Talk about your brandSustainable Materials - Our Sourcing Policy & Promise to You

Share information about your brand with your customers. Describe a product, make announcements, or welcome customers to your store.

At Viva La Vegan, we care deeply about the impact our products have on the planet. Wherever we can, we choose organic, recycled, or otherwise lower‑impact materials. That has always been our preference and remains at the heart of how we design and source our products.

However, as a small independent brand, we also want to be transparent: not every product we offer is made from organic or recycled materials.

Some styles, fits, colours, or specialist items simply aren’t available in organic or recycled options yet. Rather than limit what we can offer — or compromise on quality — we sometimes choose responsibly‑made non‑organic alternatives so we can continue to grow, stay competitive, and keep spreading our message.

Our Approach

1. Organic & Sustainable First

Where an organic or recycled option exists that meets our quality standards, we will always choose it. This includes:

  • Organic cotton

  • Recycled cotton

  • Recycled polyester

  • Low‑impact inks

  • Recyclable or recycled packaging

These remain our preferred materials.

2. Responsible Non‑Organic Options When Necessary

When an organic or recycled version of a product doesn’t exist, isn’t reliable, or doesn’t meet the fit/quality our customers expect, we may use a non‑organic alternative.

We do this carefully and intentionally — not as a shortcut, but as a practical choice that allows us to offer a wider range of products without compromising on durability or comfort.

3. Honest, Accurate Product Information

We will always describe materials accurately on each product page. We don’t make blanket claims, and we don’t label items as organic unless they genuinely are.

If you ever want more detail about a specific product, you can email us at jay@viva-la-vegan.com and we’ll be happy to explain exactly what it’s made from.

Why This Matters to Us

Our mission is bigger than clothing. We use our products to challenge perceptions about veganism, compassion, and sustainability. To do that, we need to reach people — and sometimes that means offering items that aren’t yet available in organic or recycled materials.

We’d rather be honest and transparent than pretend we’re 100% organic when the industry simply isn’t there yet.

Continuous Improvement

We regularly review our suppliers and materials, and as more organic and recycled options become available, we will continue shifting our range in that direction.

This policy may be updated as our sourcing evolves.
