The Annual Statistics of Scientific Procedures on Living Animals, Great Britain 2018 show that in the Uk alone a shocking 3.52 million procedures were completed in 2018, including tests on over 1 million mice , rats (170,665), birds (146,860), rabbits (11,159), guinea pigs (6,445), monkeys (3,207), dogs (4, 481), cats (159), horses (10,424) and fish (300,811). these animals were subjected to severe suffering, the highest category allowed under the law. – Stats from The Humane Society ( www.hsi.org)

4. Organ-on-a-Chip: Devices lined with human cells can mimic the functions of human organs, such as lungs, hearts, and kidneys.
5. In Vitro Testing: Experiments performed on biological molecules outside of cells can study interactions with drugs and other substances.
6. Simple Organisms: Using bacteria and other simple organisms to study basic biological processes.
